Title: grub2-unicode-font.tcz Description: GNU unicode fonts in grub2 format Version: 5.1.20080914 Author: Paul Hardy, Roman Czyborra Original-site: http://unifoundry.com/unifont.html Copying-policy: GPL Size: 1.2MB Extension_by: Jason W Tags: GNU unicode fonts grub2 format Comments: This extension is PPI compatible. To use this extension, copy the unicode.pf2 font file to your /boot/grub directory. If your boot directory is /mnt/hda2/boot, then copy over the font file with this command: ---- $ sudo cp -p /usr/local/share/grub2/unicode.pf2 /mnt/hda2/boot/grub/ ---- "-p" is an important option for the cp command as that will copy the real file and not just the symlink, either just plain cp or a graphical file manager will just copy the symlink. Then you need an entry in your /mnt/hda2/boot/grub.cfg file similar to below: ---- ## insmod gfxterm insmod vbe if loadfont /boot/grub/unicode.pf2 ; then set gfxmode="1280x1024,1024x768,800x600,640x480" terminal_output gfxterm if terminal_output gfxterm; then true ; else terminal gfxterm fi fi menuentry "Tinycore 3" { linux /boot/bzImage quiet home=hda2 showapps initrd /boot/tinycore.gz } ## ---- There is also a wiki page with more info available at: http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/gfx Change-log: -------- Current: 2010/07/03 First version 5.1.20080914
